Winter is definitely a love or hate season !! We love to wrap up warm and sit by an open fire in a cosy pub, there’s Halloween, closely followed by all the festivities as Christmas approaches, but we really loathe dark, cold mornings, icy roads, car is freezing first thing in the morning and worst of all dry skin … eek !!!

We can’t do much about the weather, but here are some suggestions to ensure your skin stays silky smooth, and doesn’t give in to the harsh climate and central heating this winter.

1. Drink water. Yes, thats right 2 litres a day please. Do you have a bottle of water on your desk right now? Staying hydrated is important, and not just because it stops your skin from drying out. Drinking water is essential to your health: did you know the body is composed of about 60% water? To stay healthy, it’s important to replace the fluid we lose when we breathe, sweat or urinate. So go on fill up your water bottle now !!!

2. Moisturise. If you suffer from dry skin, then the right moisturiser can work wonders. Ask one of our skin care therapists for advice if your are unsure which product is best for you. Look out for moisturisers that include oil or oil-like ingredients (that’s ceramics, dimethicone and squalene among others) and water-holding ingredients, such as Glycerin and Lanolin.  You’re skin will be looking fabulous in no time.

3. Eat right. You are what you eat, as the saying goes, so if you want to have a glowing facade, then filling your face with foods including avocado, oily fish, nuts and leafy greens will help you look radiant – and keep you healthy.
