  1. How long do you spend cleansing your skin?

Comments Off on How long do you spend cleansing your skin?

The dermal Institute recently conducted research which reflected that most woman only spend 20 seconds washing their face, which is odd when you consider the time we spend on our hair and make up in the mornings.

Quite simply, 20 seconds is not enough, the presence of environmental pollutants in the air and cosmetics such as sunblock and waterproof make up, combine daily with the skins naturally sticky sebum secretions to form thick, slick, waxy coating on the skin by the middle of the day. a spash of water and 20 seconds of cleansing can’t penetrate this layer of oil based debris that coats the skins surface. this will lead to congestion and a dull skin appearance.

Dermalogica recommends the double cleanse, starting with Precleanse where the emulsifying agents attach to oil based debris allowing it to be flushed from the skin with water. this product makes way for your prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser to reach the follicles and pores to remove trapped debris and metabolic waste, leaving a thoroughly clean skin.

For a glowing compexion  start the New Year off with a good skincare regime, book for FREE face mapping consultation and we can prescribe the correct products for your skin type.

Comments Off on Beauty Haven’s winter must-buy …..

This winter’s must buy has to be Dermalogica daily resurfacer. As someone who has searched for the perfect exfoliator this is it!!

A precise dose of leave-on exfoliating treatment ideal for use between professional treatments. Hydroxy acids and enzymes smooth skin without causing redness and help reduce the signs of premature ageing. A brightening complex helps to even skin tone while soothing Rooibos and Green teas help skin retain moisture. Chemical and physical exfoliants combine to deliver effective exfoliation without drying the skin.  Priced at £68.90 the product contains 35 pouches.

One customer review :’One word – a miracle! This transformed my skin in only 5 applications (and there are 35). My adult acne scaring is less visible and my skin in healing naturally! It’s amazing to see the difference so quickly, I use it more as a treatment. Thanks Dermalogica for making my skin vibrant, radiant and healthy again!’

Although the product is called ‘Daily’ resurfacer you don’t need to use it every day, even two or three times a week would make a huge difference to your skin and make the product last a bit longer therefore making it a bit more cost effective.

  4. 52.Happy New Year!

Comments Off on 52.Happy New Year!

As we are approaching the end of 2013 we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Throughout 2013 we have been raising money for the NSPCC by taking part in and holding various events, some more challanging than others. In February we held a coffee morning for our regular clients which included Dermalogica face mapping and an introdution to our new product, skinperfect primer.

We put our running shoes on in May and took part in the Belfast Marathon as a relay team. Luckily the rain stayed away and with all the support we had a brilliant day, each managing to (just about) complete our relay leg with a good overall time.

Our ladie’s cinema night in September was a highlight with 70 women enjoying an evening watching the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Tudor Cinema in Comber. Drinks and food were served and a photographer from the Ulster Tatler was in attendance to ensure the best moments of the eventful night were captured. We held a raffle on the night to raise more money with the prizes being donated by local businesses. We are extremely grateful for their support.

Our final event of the year was a bag pack in Tesco during November. The day was very successful and we met many characters.

We are currently deciding on a charity for 2014 and also thinking of challenging events to help us raise money for this. This year we raised over £2000 for NSPCC and we hope to be just as successful in 2014.

We would like to thank you for following and reading our blogs throughout the year and hope you enjoy spending time with your family during the festive season.

  6. 49. My Christmas Beauty Wish List.

Comments Off on 49. My Christmas Beauty Wish List.

As a beauty blogger I am obviously obsessed with beauty and have lots of products to prove it! Although gift sets make great stocking fillers I personally prefer to get a product which  is a little too expensive to buy for myself.

    My wish list:

Dermalogica Power Rich rrp £137.50  designed to restore firmness,, elastacticity and hydration to depleted skin.  this product will reduce fine lines, resurface and regenerate the skin. The results can be seen in one week.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask £34.50. a great restorative masque  to boost hydration  and suppleness. This masque just feels luxurious and leaves the skin glowing. I always think a masque is a great gift, a luxury addition to your beauty regime.

NYO Wild Rose Beauty Balm £37. This product can be used as a cleanser, gentle exfoliator and intense nourishing balm, it comes with an organic muslin cloth. I personally use it as an exfoliator, I love this product and it smells devine.

NYO Beauty Sleep Body Butter £22.50. Sleep like a baby, wrapped in a cocoon of moisturising plant butters infused with relaxing essential oils. After a nice warm bath moisturise the body with this delightful body butter and hop into bed, the dreamy aromatherapy essential oil blend will have you asleep in no time.

OPI Top Ten Mini Collection. £20.50. A great way to expand your lacquer collection with OPI’s top colours. A great blend of neutrals and reds with a couple of gitters thrown in. Also great little bottles to throw into your handbag.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino £140. Tom Ford’s reinvention of a classic eau de cologne features Tunisian neroli,  Italian bergamot, SicilianLemon, winter yellow mandarin, lavender, orange flower, rosemary and amber.

I’m a bit of a fan of soy candles and this year stumbled across the Celtic candle range. They average around £13 and come in some really interesting scents, my favourite is black current and tomato. The candles can be used as a massage oil to nourish dry hands and feet. Try one, you won’t be disappointed. Although some candles can be pricey, I am not too keen on the cheaper ones as they often let off harmful chemicals, therefore I think candles make great luxurious gifts and are an indulgent treat.
