Our Favourite Summer products 2017.

Spread the love

Where do I start, there are so many products I am loving right now but heres just a few which I would highly recommend

Dermalogica’s Ultra Sensitive Tint

‘Go ahead, enjoy the sun! ‘

For sensitised, reactive and recently resurfaced skin.

With Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF 30, you can replace your moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation with this one simple and highly effective formulation. This tinted moisturizer combines a chemical-free sunscreen with a light wash of colour to defend dry and sensitive skin from sun exposure. With less time needed to get ready, you’ll have more time to spend having fun!

This broad Spectrum sunscreen (with tinted earth minerals), helps guard skin against UV damage with antioxidants from soothing Grape Seed and Green Tea extracts, as physical sunscreens shield against skin-aging and irritating UV damage. Contains Dermalogica’s exclusive Ultra Calming TM Complex. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colours.UltraSensitiveTint SPF 30

After cleansing, toning and moisturising, apply evenly and liberally to the face, preferably 30 minutes prior to sun exposure. For continuous coverage, apply regularly and reapply as needed after swimming and exercise.

Beauty Haven can do a skin scanning session with you to see how sensitised or damaged your skin is, and prescribe the correct products and treatments. This is £12 redeemable off a treatment or product. For a sensitised or sun damaged skin we would recommend a lactic peel or photo rejuvenation. A patch test is required prior to laser photo rejuvenation. This facial will remove age spots, diffuse redness and leave a clearer more youthful complexion. You can’t have this treatment 30 days before or after sun exposure as it can cause photosensitivity causing your skin to burn more easily so factor this in if you are considering this treatment.

Dermalogica Skin Perfect Primer SPF50

After a day on the beach you’ll be wanting to apply some make up before you head out for the evening. Use this primer under your make up, its fantastic. The products gives the appearance of smoothing away fine lines, brightens and primes for a flawless complexion and will prep for make-up application. Velvety silicones create an instantly smooth surface. This product has the added benefit of SPF50 to shield against sun damage. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colours.

After you have cleansed and moisturised in the morning apply prior to your normal make up. This primer has a lovely glow to it and your makeup will last all day. My must have product!!

Of course we are hoping that you won’t allow yourself to get too much sun exposure, prevention is always better than cure as they say. This is a fab product I always bring with me on holiday.  The product feels amazing on the skin and helps reduce discomfort and cool sunburn

TIP. Can be used after waxing to cool and help minimize redness

If you don’t want to take my word for it, have a read at a few press releases regarding this product……..

Heralds our After Sun Repair as “the new generation of after-sun lotions”

Sunburn is skin damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays. Too much exposure to UV light can make your skin red and painful, which can later lead to peeling or blistering.

The severity of sunburn can vary depending on your skin type and how long you are exposed to UV rays.

The symptoms of sunburn include: (these may not occur immediately and can take up to five hours to appear)

red, sore skin (erythema)
skin that is warm and tender to the touch
flaking and peeling skin after a number of days (usually 4-7 days after exposure)

Treating sunburn

Treatment for sunburn aims to cool the skin and relieve any pain or symptoms. Applying a cold flannel over the area will help cool the skin while lotions will help keep it moist. In severe cases of sunburn, you should ask your pharmacist for advice because you may need special treatment from your GP surgery.

You should see your GP if you have sunburn and you feel faint, dehydrated or have severe blistering, or if a young child or baby has sunburn.

We have a full range of solar defence products available at Beauty Haven, please feel free to contact us should you need advice on what is best for your skin.

Have a great holiday, stay safe in the sun and always make sure you stay well hydrated.
